Background
Accessibility is the quality of a product, service, or environment that ensures it can be used easily by anyone—regardless of their ability, experience, or level of expertise. However, it remains a major challenge for many digital products today.

Role & Contributions
Since 2024, I have led the company’s first accessibility initiative, focusing on an online banking platform and carrying out the following key activities:
- Facilitating training workshops on accessibility fundamentals.
- Developing an accessibility consulting framework for Finsa.
- Conducting accessibility assessments for web and mobile platforms.
- Leading user testing with assistive technology users.
Developing an accessibility design framework.

Our consulting approach helps companies comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA and relevant legislation, such as the European Accessibility Act (EAA) by offering:
- Testing - Comprehensive accessibility audits (web, mobile, PDF).
- Bugfixing - Code fixing intervention.
- Training - Training and workshops to adopt accessibility best practices.
- Accessible by design - Consulting on UI/UX improvements to create more inclusive digital experiences.
Testing ING's online banking platform (Milan branch).
Auditing and testing
Full site assessment covering:
- 6 macro areas (Accounts, Login, Profile, etc.)
- ~70 pages, detecting 330+ critical issues.
- 23 key accessibility themes through 90+ tests.
Outcomes
After the analysis, we created a comprehensive report documenting all the accessibility barriers found on the platform. Additionally, we delivered a second document with actionable suggestions—clear, prioritized recommendations for immediate and long-term improvements. This ensured the development team had practical guidance to implement accessibility fixes effectively.
Workshop facilitation
Beyond delivering technical reports, we conducted hands-on workshops to:
- Train internal teams on WCAG compliance.
- Accessibility testing live demonstrations.
- Provide ongoing support to integrate accessibility into design and development workflows.
